29th Annual international Exhibition

The Exhibition

Call for Entries

ASBA and the Society of Illustrators are working together to present the 29th Annual International, our second biennial appearance in its historic five-story townhouse on East 63rd Street in New York. The Society was founded in 1901 and is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America. The exhibition of fifty original botanical artworks will be installed in its 3rd floor Garden Gallery. In-person workshops are being planned, as well as virtual studio visits.

The selection jury of Steve Compton, Patricia Jonas, Arabelle Liepold, and Jeanne Reiner met in May, selecting 50 artworks from 205 entries, including 11 first-time artists. Juried in are artists from the©Kelsey Wilson US, Canada, China, Ireland, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Those with work accepted are: Abbye Carsten, Kélanie Chapdelaine, Annie Chen, Jessica Daigle, Rebecca Davies, Rhonda Dick, Mary Dillon, Sharon Duplantis, Jean Emmons, Christiane Fashek, Jane Fournier, Deborah Friedman, Gaye Grossman, Jane Hancock, Albina P. Herron, Wendy Hollender, Yan Ji, Hyojung Kim, Hyun Jung Kim, Karen Kluglein, , M. Joy Lemon, Anne Mantini, Tammy McEntee, Lauren Meier, Keiko Nibu-Tarver, Barbara Oozeerally, Catherine Park, Lesley Randall, Gillian Rice, Betsy Rogers-Knox, Daleen Roodt, Olga Ryabtsova, Constance Scanlon, Kathy Schermer-Gramm, Crystal Shin, Katya Shiova, Liudmyla Spodin, Dianne Sutherland, Kaoru Takaishi, Melissa Toberer, Faye Van Wert, Tracy Wager, Jessica Walker, Elizabeth White-Pultz, Kelsey Wilson, and Carol Woodin.

Watch for the publication of a color catalog. Awards will be presented during the opening reception, including ASBA’s Eleanor Wunderlich Award, Best in Show, and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Award for a Print or Drawing.
