Andreas Hentrich (*1963 Wuppertal, Germany) has been living and working as independent artist in Cologne, Germany, since 1990. After his education as a conservator for paintings he fully devoted himself to realistic painting. Numerous oil on canvas paintings and watercolors have evolved in several work series, of which a large part deals with botanical motives. Documentarily painted true to detail they focus on choice of motives as well as on picture composition and structure.
Through his continuing work with nature as a motif the contact to Forum Botanical Art in Thüngersheim, Germany, was established in 2015. Here, he took part in several exhibitions, among others the Botanical Art Worldwide 2018.
In 2015, Andreas Hentrich started teaching watercolor painting at the Berlin Art Academy for Painting and he regularly organizes international exhibitions, mostly in exchange with Japanese artists and institutions.
In 2021 and 2022 he participated in the publication of the Grootbos Florilegium, South Africa.
His works are represented in national and international collections (e.g. the Cologne Municipal Museum and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh).
